Location: Worcester Park, KT4
Pay: £13.15/hr (FTE - £25.6k)
About Me:
I am a 27-year-old man living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a progressive neuromuscular condition. I have been using a powered wheelchair since 2015. I strive to live an independent and fulfilling life.
Education and Interests:
I studied Neuroscience at the University of Nottingham (2015-2018) and MSc Science Communication at the University of Sheffield (2018-2019). I have a background in healthcare communications and am currently pursuing a part-time distance learning MSc in Sustainable Development at SOAS. My interests include healthcare, science, the outdoors, music, sports, and various hobbies such as DJing, gardening, and reading.
Job Requirements:
I am looking for 2 PAs to cover 51 hours a week, with a maximum of 36 hours and a minimum of 15 hours. Flexibility is important. Responsibilities include:
Driving: A full UK or EU driving licence is essential for this role. You may drive a Motability vehicle for activities. I can also drive from my powered wheelchair for short journeys.
Experience: Previous experience in manual handling is necessary, but I can provide training on my specific needs.
Work Hours:
I am looking for PAs who can cover 51 hours a week, with flexibility in evenings and weekends, primarily Sundays. The pay rate is £13.15 per hour.
Example Working Patterns:
Availability: Flexibility to work between 7:00 am – 8:00 pm, with potential shifts on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Working patterns can be discussed and agreed upon based on availability.
