We are currently looking for a 2nd Line IT Support Technician

About The Role…

As our business evolves, we are looking to strengthen our workforce with talented and motivated individuals across a range of disciplines to work from our Northwest Engineering Centre of Excellence and currently have this opportunity available: The core responsibility of this role is to act as a key escalation point for the Service Desk team, supporting a wide range of systems, software, and infrastructure across the business.

Key Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To

  1. Provide 2nd line technical support for escalated service desk tickets, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues both remotely and on-site.
  3. Maintain and support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  4. Support and manage virtualisation platforms including VMWare and Hyper-V.
  5. Configure and maintain network devices including firewalls, switches, and routers.
  6. Assist with system upgrades, patching, and general IT projects.
  7. Document technical procedures, system changes, and solutions clearly.
  8. Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure smooth operation and high availability of systems.

What We’re Looking For…

  1. Proven experience in a 2nd line support role.
  2. Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS.
  3. Hands-on experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMWare and Hyper-V.
  4. Experience configuring and supporting network devices, including firewalls, switches, and routers.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
  6. Strong communication and customer service skills.
