The Post Holder is responsible for the co-ordination and management of clinical capacity across the hospital site including clinical assessment and decision making in response to service demands, utilising appropriate performance management data to identify where capacity meets or does not meet demand and thereafter ensure that the correct resources are applied at the right time, right place and in the right format.
Responsible for ensuring safe and effective patient flow management in both Scheduled and Unscheduled care, contributing to site and Pan Lothian patient flow management.
Work collaboratively with Site Management teams across all sites using clinical leadership to influence capacity and flow, support the site with initial responsibility as first response during the out of hours period and trigger escalation procedures for matters outwith own scope of responsibility.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
