Recreation Leader I – Part-Time Temporary
$20.16 – $23.31 Hourly
Requirements: High school diploma or GED (desirable); One year of coursework from college or technical school desired; and, One to two years of progressively responsible related experience; OR Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. CPR/First Aid Certification (desirable). Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening and closing shifts, weekends, holidays, and/or on-call status.

Recreation Aide – Camp (Part-Time Temporary)
$20.16 – $23.31 Hourly
Requirements: No minimum education or work experience required. Must meet the minimum age requirement of 14 years old prior to new hire orientation. If under 18, must have a valid work permit prior to employment. Must be available to work for the entire duration of Summer Camp Program: Monday, June 16 to Friday, August 8, 2025 (8 weeks). Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or on-call status. Must be able to work an average of 20 hours per week.

The following positions are open on a continuous basis. The positions may close at any time without notice. The date for the interviews and the Water Skills Assessment and Swim Proficiency exam will be communicated to qualified candidates.
Aquatics Aide (Part-Time Temporary)
$20.16 – $23.31 Hourly
Requirements: High school diploma or GED (desirable); No prior experience is required. CPR/First Aid/AED Certification (must attain within three months of hire). NOTE: The City of West Hollywood, Recreation Services Division will provide the certification courses to qualified, passing candidates. Employment is contingent based upon successful completion of the required certifications. Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and/or on-call status is essential.
Lifeguard (Part-Time Temporary)
$23.63 – $30.19 Hourly
Requirements: No prior experience is required. Familiarity with Aquatics programs and aquatics facilities, teamwork skills, customer service experience, proficient computer skills, and lifeguarding background/experience is desirable; StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Certification; Starfish Aquatics Swim Instructor Certification. Must be 16 years of age or older by JUNE 9, 2025. Availability to work a flexible schedule including opening and closing shifts, weekends and holidays. Water Skills Assessment and Swim Proficiency: Must pass initial water skills assessment and swim proficiency test during the recruitment process. NOTE: The City of West Hollywood, Recreation Services Division will provide the certification courses through the West Hollywood Aquatics Academy to qualified, passing candidates. Continued employment is based upon successfully completing the West Hollywood Aquatics Academy.
