Are you a recent graduate looking for work in education?

Calling all graduates looking for work in education and school settings

We are working with a SEMH secondary school in Hulme, who support students with additional needs.

Prospero require graduates to work with pupils who come from challenging backgrounds. The role will start as soon as possible and continue into September and the rest of next academic year.

You will be responsible for supporting pupils 1:1 and with small groups delivering intervention sessions in maths where you will provide intensive support to small groups of learners.

The students you will be working with have been taken out of mainstream education due to mental health needs, or behaviour challenges and therefore need extra pastoral and academic support, as well as mentoring.

You will be supported by outstanding teachers and a strong, highly recognised leadership team.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Degree in Psychology, or a relevant degree such as Maths, English, Sociology, Criminology, the Arts, Dance, Drama, Sports, or a background in Health & Social Care.
  2. Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference) desirable but not essential.
  3. Relevant experience working with children or young people with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties is essential.
  4. A Level 3 qualification in Education, Childcare, or a related field is desirable but not mandatory.
  5. A genuine passion for promoting the social and emotional well-being of students, coupled with empathy and patience.
  6. Ability to remain resilient and handle challenging behavior in a composed and professional manner.
  7. Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and a commitment to ensuring the welfare and safety of students.
  8. Up to date behaviour management training (desirable, we can provide training).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  1. Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  2. Hold an enhanced DBS that is registered on the update service or be willing to process a new application.
  3. Provide professional references to cover the last 2 years.
