Location: London
Salary: £29,904, and £2,000 Onboarding Payment to support with initial expenses such as workwear, relocation and travel costs

About Client Coverage

Our Client Relationship Apprentices sit within our global Client Coverage team, which leads the management and development of our Corporate and Institutional Banking Client Relationships globally. The Client Coverage teams work together with our product partners to deliver solutions for our clients ranging from trade finance and credit derivatives to mergers and acquisitions.

Globally, Client Coverage manages and develops our client relationships. They work across the global network together with our product partners to deliver working capital, financing, trade, cash and financial markets solutions for our clients. Industry sectors include financial institutions, commercial real estate, consumer retail, technology, oil and gas, metals and mining and clean tech.

About the Apprenticeship Programme

  • The Level 4 Investment Operations Specialist Apprenticeship has a focus on investment management, investment consulting, trading and reporting activities.
  • You will complete the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment - Investment Operations Certificate.
  • Have the chance to rotate around different desks for broad business exposure, discovering your strengths to guide your future career.
  • High performers may be considered for a full-time role on completion of the programme.

What you’ll gain

  • Broad knowledge of Client Coverage including trade facilitation and capital and investment flows in and for our footprint.
  • Experience of working with some of the most influential local and global corporates, guiding clients through our products and solutions.
  • Fully funded industry recognised Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI) qualification.

What you’ll do

  • Work with senior bankers on new business origination activities in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Develop an understanding of industry trends and client analysis.
  • Attend global briefing meetings with different departments, undertake research assignments and complete project work.

Alongside classroom and on-the-desk learning, including those that will develop your communication, presentation and analytical skills, your day-to-day responsibilities will mean you’ll be contributing to the business from the outset. Mentors, peers and stakeholders will support you as you navigate the organisation with senior stakeholder engagement sessions and events to truly immerse you into the global Standard Chartered Bank network.

Eligibility Criteria

We encourage applicants from all A Level (or equivalent) subjects and encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds. We ask that you have:

  • A minimum of five GCSE’s including GCSE Maths at grade 6 or above and GCSE English at grade 5 or above.
  • Be on track or have achieved a minimum of three A Levels or equivalent (BTEC) at grade BBB or above.
  • Permanent legal right to work in the UK.
  • Resident in the UK since September 2022.

If you are currently enrolled in university or already have completed an equivalent degree, you will not be eligible to apply for this programme, but you can apply to one of our graduate opportunities.
