2025-2026 Middle and Upper School Latin Teacher

Norfolk Collegiate seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable Middle and Upper School Latin Teacher to join our faculty for the 2025-2026 academic year. This position will be responsible for teaching Latin classes from seventh grade through Latin V, advising a small group of upper school students, and supporting the school's mission through collaboration and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Latin courses across middle and upper school levels, including seventh grade through Latin V.
• Develop a dynamic and engaging curriculum that fosters a deep understanding of Latin language, literature, and Roman culture.
• Utilize innovative teaching methods, including technology and interactive learning strategies, to enhance student engagement.
• Differentiate instruction to support students with a range of abilities and learning styles.
• Advise a small group of upper school students, providing academic and personal support.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Latin and classical studies into interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a strong learning community.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Latin, Classics, or a related field; advanced degrees are valued.
• Teaching experience at the middle and/or upper school level preferred.
• Deep knowledge of Latin language, literature, and Roman history.
• Strong instructional skills and a passion for classical languages.
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues across disciplines.
