Safeguarding Statement
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children is our highest priority at Kingsway Primary School we work together to move beyond compliance to a culture of excellence in relation to safeguarding. This includes implementing robust Safer Recruitment practices, without exception.
The post-holder will have a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and must demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding as part of their professional role.
Prior to appointment, all relevant and necessary safeguarding checks (including online checks of publicly available information) will be undertaken. As part of the shortlisting process, we will carry out an online search of publicly available information as recommended by Keeping Children Safe in Education. This is to identify any potential safeguarding concerns.
We would like to make clear that it is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. The job description and person specification for this post make clear the safeguarding requirements and responsibilities of the role.
As this post involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children, it is not exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013, and 2020. At least two references will be requested before the interview, in line with our safer recruitment procedures.
This post is also subject to satisfactory references, proof of right to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996, and employment checks where applicable. Applicants must provide proof of right to work in the UK, as required by UK immigration law. We are unable to sponsor work visas for this role.
This post is subject to a probationary period in line with the school’s policies to ensure continued suitability for the role.
