1st Shift Forklift Operator

SUMMARY –

General duties include receiving product off the main banding line, checking load tags, loading the product into specified trailer(s), or moving product into inventory. Additionally, moves product from inventory to machines and completes the required paperwork.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES –

1. Follow and help to ensure that fellow workers adhere to all applicable safe work policies & procedures.
2. Conduct daily inspections of equipment.
3. Be constantly vigilant and maintain a safe & clean work area.
4. Utilize scanners and ensure inventories are kept accurate.
5. Ensure that all orders produced are moved to the next operation.
6. Handle product to minimize damage.
7. Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1. Must be a licensed powered industrial truck operator.
2. Must be able to operate a lift truck safely with minimal product damage.
3. Must be able to accurately scan load tags and maintain accurate inventories.
4. Must be able to read and follow production schedules.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE -

High School Diploma or higher preferred, but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS -

Needs a working understanding of both written & spoken English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS –

1. Must be able to read & use a non-metric measuring tape.
2. Must be able to count & perform simple mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division).
