What is the Opportunity?
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Futures professional for the role of Associate Director – Exchange and Regulatory Controls, for a fixed term contract of 12 months.
The incumbent will review the EMEA Exchange Rulebooks and the FCM’s Exchange Reporting logic. This role focuses on ensuring that the Operations control framework and exchange reporting logic is comprehensive, accurate and effective.
The Associate Director will play a key role in assessing, strengthening, and evolving our control framework to maintain regulatory compliance with Exchange rules and obligations as an FCM.
What will you do?
Exchange Rulebook and Control Framework:
Review and assess exchange rulebooks to ensure that operational controls are comprehensive, effective and aligned with exchange standards and best practices.
Identify gaps in the existing control framework and recommend necessary improvements to enhance risk management, compliance and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that all controls are implemented effectively across Operations teams.
Exchange and Regulatory Reporting:
Review Exchange Technological Specifications and validate the FCM’s exchange reporting logic to ensure the data is accurate, timely and in line with Exchange requirements.
Collaborate with internal Operations, IT and external vendors to ensure firm understanding of current logic and implement improvements in reporting processes, ensuring quality, integrity and timeliness of data.
Work closely with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure reporting logic is in alignment with Exchange and Regulatory requirements.
Cross Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with the technology, compliance, exchanges, external vendors and operations team to understand and provide continuous improvements on exchange reporting and control framework.
Industry Updates and Continuous Improvements:
Stay up to date with the latest trends, exchange circulars, regulations and technologies affecting Operations controls and reporting logic.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging knowledge of best practices and regulatory changes to refine and optimize the control framework.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
Degree in Finance or Business or similar/equivalent.
Strong experience in Futures Operations, Compliance or financial services with a focus on Futures and ETD.
Deep understanding of Exchange governance, reporting standards and regulator requirements (MIFID II, EMIR, CPR, Short Code mappings, etc).
Proven experience of overseeing exchange relationship, with a focus on operational processes, exchange reporting, risk and governance.
Strong understanding of regulatory and operational frameworks for Futures and ETD.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for details and the ability to identify opportunities for improvements. Strong knowledge of exchange rulebook and operational control and processes.
Ability to work with cross functional teams and lead the implementation of new Exchange relationships.
Excellent communications, problem-solving, project management and leadership skills.
Nice to have:
Strong knowledge of external vendor systems, such as FIS and ION, global exchanges, CCP processes and globally listed markets.
Expert understanding of both CCP and derivative regulatory rules.
