About the Role:

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA), you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational development of our students. You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals to provide tailored support to each student’s needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA):

1. Provide one-on-one support tailored to students’ needs, ensuring they receive the attention and guidance they need to succeed.
2. Monitor and assess student progress, adapting support strategies as necessary to ensure that each student is progressing towards their educational goals.
3. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to each student’s education, sharing insights and strategies to support their development.
4. Create a positive and inclusive environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported, encouraging positive interactions and a sense of community.
5. Use a variety of methods to engage and motivate students, catering to different learning needs and preferences, and making learning enjoyable and effective.
6. Keep detailed records of each student’s progress, including assessments, observations, and feedback, and communicate this information to parents, support staff, and other relevant parties to ensure transparency and collaboration.

Requirements of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA):

1. Relevant qualifications or experience in educational support.
2. Prior experience in supporting students or individuals with educational needs is essential.
3. Excellent communication skills are crucial for effectively interacting with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering positive relationships.
4. Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with all members of the school community, creating a positive and collaborative environment.
5. Show a deep commitment to helping students with educational needs, exhibiting patience and empathy in interactions.

To work with GSL Education as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will need:

1. Have the right to work in the UK.
2. Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
3. Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
