Location: Scunthorpe
Salary: £88.84 - £105 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: After Easter 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

About the Role:

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Working closely with teachers, you’ll provide tailored support to students, helping them engage with learning and develop essential life skills. Whether providing one-on-one support or working with small groups, your presence will be key in fostering a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to a student with SEMH needs.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Support students in their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Help create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with behaviour management and encourage positive student engagement.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support each student's unique needs.

Role Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs in a school or similar setting.
  • A genuine passion for education and a commitment to student success.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with teachers and students.
  • The ability to adapt to different learning styles and classroom settings.
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with no unexplained gaps).
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or a willingness to apply for one).
