1:1 Teaching Assistant | ASAP

Waltham Forest

Full-Time, 5 days per week

Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience

Teach Plus are currently working with a primary school in Waltham Forest, which is seeking an experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant.

This school is a one-form entry primary school that offers a bespoke, engaging curriculum. They are well supported by the wider community and families, creating an environment where children are excited to come to school.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to:

• Follow the class teacher and SENCo instructions in supporting the child both inside and outside the classroom
• Follow plans for activities and intervention sessions provided by the class teacher
• Support with learning
• Ensure the child feels supported and safe by having a warm and nurturing approach

The ideal candidate for the 1:1 Teaching Assistant role will have:

• Experience working with children with SEND
• Ideally, experience working with children with Hearing Impairments
• The ability to build rapport with the child and respond to the child's individual needs
• Ability to follow direction from the class teacher, SENCo, and external agencies such as Speech and Language Therapists
