Do you have a passion for supporting children in their learning and development?

A welcoming school in the Clacton area is looking for a caring, empathetic, and dedicated 1:1 Support Worker to join the team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on a student's education and well-being by offering personalized support in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide individual support to a student with specific learning, social, or behavioural needs.
  2. Assist the student in engaging with the curriculum, ensuring they can access and participate in lessons effectively.
  3. Support the student with their personal development, including social and emotional growth.
  4. Foster a positive and nurturing environment for the student to thrive both academically and personally.
  5. Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to ensure that the student’s educational plan is being followed.
  6. Help the student with a variety of activities, including classroom tasks, social integration, and organizational skills.
  7. Inspire the student to reach their full potential.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience working with children or young people, especially in a school setting or with special educational needs.
  2. A strong commitment to providing high-quality, individualized support to students.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  4. GCSE’s Grade C (Pass) or above.
  5. Patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach to support.
  6. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
