Job description

1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant

Location: B34, Hodgehill

Hours: Full time

Start Date: ASAP

A Primary School in the Hodgehill area is seeking two experienced, dedicated, and passionate SEN Learning Support Assistants.

We are on the lookout for two dedicated and passionate SEN Learning Support Assistants to join one of our partner schools on a long-term basis. You will play a vital role in supporting two children on a 1:1 basis as they progress through their key stages.

If you have experience and a commitment to making a difference, we want to hear from you!

Your day will be split into two: in the mornings, you will be working in Yr 1 supporting a child who has Autism, and in the afternoon, you will be in Yr 2 supporting a little girl who has Down Syndrome and Autism. Working with children who have SEN has its challenges, so the school is looking for someone who is committed, patient, and experienced, and who will be able to help them engage in their learning. Personal care may also be needed. This is a rewarding opportunity to create a positive impact on young children's lives, regardless of their differences and abilities.

This particular school has an amazing reputation and is filled with multiple opportunities for their students to develop their full potential in an atmosphere of trust, care, fun, and tolerance. They strive for success in all aspects of children's lives, from emotional support and development to academic excellence. They also work closely with their school community by actively involving families, providing access to a range of support and services, communicating in various ways, and taking an active role in making a positive difference in their local community. Many more positives come with this school, some of which are:

  1. Free on-site parking.
  2. Opportunities for progression.
  3. A welcoming and supportive team environment.

About you:

We are looking for someone who:

  1. Is patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting children who have SEN.
  2. Has excellent communication skills.
  3. Can remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing needs.
  4. Is willing to give personal care, if needed.
  5. Has experience working 1:1 with children who have SEN.

To apply:

You will need:

  1. Right to work in the UK.
  2. 2 sufficient references.
  3. Up-to-date DBS (preferably on the update system).
  4. Proof of previous work history.
  5. Experience working on a 1:1 basis.

Willo Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and expects every candidate to share this commitment. Placements are subject to appropriate Child Protection screening, including checks with former employers and the Disclosure and Barring Checks.
