Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children with Autism? Are you a Psychology Graduate, experienced Teaching Assistant, or Carer looking for a rewarding role?

A fantastic Special Needs School in Chippenham is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Autism Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as next week. In this role, you will work closely with one child who has a primary diagnosis of Autism, as well as other associated additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology Graduate or Teaching Assistant/Carer looking to further their experience with SEND.

As a 1:1 Autism Teaching Assistant, you will:

  1. Work closely with the student, helping them engage in classroom activities and develop their independence.
  2. Help the student build positive relationships with other pupils.
  3. Aid the student with both their verbal and non-verbal communication.
  4. Assist the class teacher and offer additional support to other pupils when needed.

The school is looking for an enthusiastic and bubbly 1:1 Autism Teaching Assistant who has a passion for supporting children with special educational needs. A recent graduate would be perfect for this role, with a relevant degree in Psychology, Criminology, or Sociology. Any experience working with Autism would be beneficial; this could be professional or personal experience. Empathy and flexibility are also important skills!

The school day runs from 8:30 am to 3:15 pm, and the school is looking for a 1:1 Autism Teaching Assistant who can work full time, Monday to Friday.

Salary: £80 to £95 per day
