Role Summary
Objective: The primary objective of this position is to assist the store management team in creating a store environment that fosters creativity, employee development, and the VIBE philosophy. Adhere to Urban Outfitters' "Peers Training Peers" philosophy.
What You'll Be Doing
Tasks and Responsibilities
People:
- Adhere to company standards for mystery shopping and ensure customer service takes priority over projects.
- Contribute to the overall store atmosphere by being positive, respectful, and helpful to others.
- Adapt to the store's needs by assisting with customer service, loss prevention, store cleaning tasks, and store projects.
Teamwork and Communication:
- Lead by example by inspiring, motivating, and encouraging teamwork.
- Assist management in training and mentoring on receiving and inventory control measures.
- Communicate effectively and build partnerships with the store team, inventory control, and distribution center.
- Actively participate in daily meetings.
Operations:
- Successfully lead the team in the receiving process and promptly complete shipping processing.
- Oversee receiving to ensure operational tasks are completed and maintain clean and organized receiving and stock areas.
- Accurately and timely complete receiving documents.
- Set an example by adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate strong awareness of loss prevention and contribute to ensuring compliance with all inventory control measures.
- Always comply with company health and safety regulations.
Merchandising & Display:
- Work in partnership with the visual merchandising manager and management team to coordinate and facilitate the placement of shipments and maintain standards throughout the store.
- Demonstrate familiarity with top-selling products and prioritize restocking of best-selling items.
- Support sales by assisting with merchandising and display projects as needed.
What You'll Need
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Previous leadership experience in a retail environment.
- Ability to manage the sales floor and warehouse, including repetitive bending, prolonged standing, twisting, crouching, and climbing.
- Open availability to work evenings and weekends, including opening and closing the store to meet business needs.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
