Job Description:
Bailey Information Technology Consultants is recruiting for an experienced database administrator to provide operations sustainment and engineering support under the Foundation Sustainment Services contract.

Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include monitoring the database system and performing routine health checks; deploying security patches and bug fixes to test and operational environments; updating databases with new data; and updating operational and security documentation, including troubleshooting guides and SOPs.

Core Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.
2. Minimum 4-10 years of information technology experience, with a minimum of 4-6 years of practical Database Administration experience.
3. Design, implement, and maintain a multiple security enclave data environment in the AWS cloud.
4. Manage database cloud environment with minimal downtime while ensuring data integrity.
5. Deploy and manage databases on cloud platforms like Amazon RDS or Aurora.
6. Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.
7. Design and implement scalable database structures.
8. Create and maintain data models to ensure database integrity and performance.
9. Optimize database performance through index creation and query tuning.
10. Align database operations with CI/CD pipelines through collaboration with software maintenance teams.
11. Proficiency in database management systems such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
12. Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patches for new features and security.
13. Analyze and forecast database capacity for scalability and optimal performance.
14. Leverage cloud backup solutions for data resilience and easy restoration in failures.
15. Use infrastructure as code tools (e.g., AWS CloudFormation) for consistent and automated database management.
16. Create and maintain documentation for database design, configurations, and processes.
17. Effective communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
18. Must have DoD 8570 compliance certifications (i.e., CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Cloud+, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Implementing and optimizing data warehousing solutions on cloud platforms, like Amazon Redshift.
2. Integrating databases with containerization platforms (e.g., Docker) and orchestrating with tools like Kubernetes for efficient resource utilization.

Prior experience with NGA and NGA’s support to mission partners.
