Afrimat Eckraal Quarries, based in Rosslyn has a vacancy for a:

Truck Driver (Fixed Term Contract)

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

• Matric / Grade 12
• Valid code 14 driver’s license
• 3 years + experience driving a truck
• A valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
• Ability to distinguish between back up alarms, voices, and other normal sounds
• Be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness

Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)

• Safe operation of the truck
• Delivering the required product safely and on time to the correct place
• Loading of material to the truck
• Ensure the truck is never overloaded
• Effectively communicate with site personnel
• Daily pre-start inspections on the truck
• Reporting of any breakdowns / defects
• Report all accidents to management
• Keep the truck clean
• Overseeing the loading of the required product
• Continually check the gauges of the truck during operation
• Drive the truck within the manufacture’s specifications (load, speed, gears etc.) and in accordance with standards set during training
• Fill up with fuel as required
• Close out at the end of the day
