TikTok Commerce-EU Customs Operation (Trade Compliance)

The International Customs team is a team committed to providing compliance customs solutions and optimizing customs operation efficiency for cross-border e-commerce. As the EU Customs Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing all e-commerce customs operations within the European Union. Your primary focus will be on ensuring compliance with EU customs regulations, streamlining import/export processes, and maximizing efficiency in customs clearance procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customs Compliance: Ensure compliance with all EU customs regulations and guidelines, staying abreast of changes and updates in customs laws.
2. Customs Clearance Optimization: Coordinate and optimize e-commerce customs clearance processes to minimize delays and facilitate the smooth movement of goods across borders.
3. Risk Management: Implement risk management strategies to identify and mitigate potential customs-related risks, such as customs audits or penalties.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including logistics, finance, and legal teams, to ensure alignment and integration of customs operations with overall business objectives.
5. Vendor Management: Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other external service providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective customs operations.
6. Customs Authorities Relationship Management: Build and maintain a good and sustainable relationship with customs authorities.
7. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within customs operations, driving efficiency and reducing costs.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field.
2. Extensive experience (3-5 years) in customs operations management within the European Union.
3. In-depth knowledge of EU customs regulations, tariff classification, and import/export procedures, preferably in e-commerce international trade.
4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex customs requirements and identify compliance solutions.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams and driving results in a dynamic environment.
7. Proficiency in customs management software and H7 declaration systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Advanced degree or professional certifications in customs compliance preferred.
2. Proven work experience in a multinational company or customs brokerage firm is preferred.
3. One or multiple additional language skills (e.g., French, German, Spanish, Chinese) are a plus but not a must-have to better support our internal and external stakeholders/service partners.
