Within our Sales Department and our Thermal Design Department, the Thermic Design Engineer designs and designs the heat exchangers, such as air-cooling (AFC) and tube/grille (S & T), in compliance with applicable codes, customer specifications, company standards and economically optimizing the proposed solutions.
You design the exchangers including the analysis of the specifications, the optimized dimensioning, the preparation of the technical offer, and participation in the technical clarifications with the customer.
Main activities:
- Performing technical analysis of specifications applicable to client files. Analysis of tender documents in consultation with the Technical Sales Engineer.
- Informing the Technical Sales Engineer of deviations from customer requests, codes, and specifications and participating in technical clarifications with the customer.
- Realization of the technical offer for exchangers including the analysis of the specifications, the optimized design, the cost table, and the technical proposal.
- Selection of mechanical parts (motors, fans, transmissions) for the air cooler in order to optimize the exchange surface, noise level, power consumption, and cost.
- Contract teams support for thermal and aeraulic aspects during the fulfillment phase and during the warranty period.
- Entering into the information system all the data needed to calculate the cost of the drycoolers.
Secondary activities:
- Participating in drafting test procedures and performing on-site tests (mainly airflow and sound level).
- Preparation of fan requisitions, technical specifications after ordering and technical approval of offers concerning the motor chain + transmission + fan. Participation in supplier relationships.
- Participation in technological monitoring and studies of improvements and development of the Thermal Service (thermal design program, on-site or factory testing campaigns, etc.).
- Participation in Research & Development projects under the direction of the R & D Department Manager following the schedule defined between the Oil & Gas and R & D Managers.
Profile:
Bac + 5 minimum in thermal or energetic with experience of 5 to 10 years in the oil, chemical, or energy sectors.
You have the basic design knowledge of heat exchangers. Software: Excel Visual Basic, HTRI Xace (numerical simulation).
