The Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS), located in downtown Ottawa, is seeking a talented, technical, client-centric, IT Support Specialist. Reporting to and under the supervision of the Chief Technology & Innovation Officer, this position is accountable for the daily provision of on-site support services for laptop hardware / software and associated infrastructure. This role involves providing internal technical support for employee computing including license management as well as maintaining server assets that bolster our enterprise computing environments.
This is a full-time permanent position and requires the individual to be comfortable working from the office at least once a week.
You are an expert in training and orienting staff on hardware and software usage. You can conduct research on hardware and software requirements at the request of the management. You can evaluate functional needs to determine specifications for purchases and order computer supplies. You can efficiently manage images, applications and OS builds. You have experience in VPN and troubleshooting connection and efficient in asset management and management of hardware cycle refreshes. You can also manage devices in Remote Management Agent.
You are a highly organized and detail-oriented, and analytical individual who is a self-starter with a high degree of initiative. You can produce strong results within tight deadlines. You have strong communication skills and can clearly convey pertinent information to internal stakeholders at the appropriate level of detail. Your strong team orientation enables you to work with multiple departments to meet their IT needs.
