North Products designs and builds high-performance athletic and lifestyle aquatic products and apparel with a no-nonsense approach. We started this brand to redefine the standard of performance design.

Based in Bali, Indonesia, we’re looking for an individual to tackle some ambitious projects. Our founder has scaled multiple businesses from inception to a billion dollars and has now turned his attention to redefining another industry.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Lead Technical Designer will be responsible from designing the initial concept through to commercialization and production for assigned styles, leading to on-time development and delivery according to critical dates, product specifications, and other goals.

You will create and revise Tech Packs for complex assigned styles and ensure all appropriate development documentation is maintained, including product specs and prototype notes. In addition, you may assist in researching and communicating with potential manufacturing vendors.

You will track and facilitate prototyping for styles; identify and address key issues and challenges in construction/manufacturing and plan accordingly to deliver proven and tested product. You will monitor and communicate progress and challenges throughout the product testing process to meet product integrity requirements.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

We're looking for an ambitious person with a strong work ethic looking to learn and tackle some ambitious projects. You will lead trend, concept, sketch, and present designs within collections from initial concept to completion. You’ll execute all product details, including construction, form, style, fit, performance, materials, etc. In this role, you will work closely with professional athletes, our founder and the team to deliver head-to-toe looks focused on sports innovation, with a strong eye for style and trends.

This also includes resolving product issues in development, commercialization, and post-production with manufacturers.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in design, art or related field; fashion design, product design, industrial design, or textile design or related field or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
• 2+ years of technical design experience in the textile/apparel industry OR product design, which includes the apparel or sporting good development process from inception through production, including pattern making, grading, construction materials, costing, manufacturing and quality.
• Outstanding ability to apply and perform foundational design skills, including illustrating, creating technical sketches, understanding pattern making, materials selection, tech pack and BOM creation, etc.
• Experience using Adobe Creative suite, CAD Pattern Design software and 3D software (Clo/Browzwear) highly desired
• Accustomed to working in a constantly evolving, high growth environment and to lead multiple and competing work priorities, demands and changes.
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate to a wide range of audiences
• Proficient working with factory vendors to ensure and improve manufacturability.
