Swiss Youth at the United Nations and World Bank Group

Through the Talent programme “Swiss Youth at the United Nations / World Bank Group”, the Swiss government, namely the Peace and Human Rights Division and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), funds an assignment with a UN organisation or the World Bank Group. With your master’s degree in hand and a first work experience, you are eligible for this unique international opportunity.

No less than 17 positions in 13 different countries are open for application. For example:

YES, you have a good chance – since the programme is reserved for Swiss graduates, there is no international competition when applying.

YES, your work is rewarded – travel, relocation, UN health insurance costs are covered. Additionally, a monthly living allowance is paid.

YES, you are a valued team member – during your assignment you are an integral part of the organisation's personnel.

This opportunity will allow you to:

  • Work with a renowned multilateral organisation;
  • Obtain on-the-job training abroad;
  • Increase knowledge and competencies in your work area of interest, while living in dynamic and multifaceted settings.

Skills Required

  • Swiss nationality;
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field;
  • Ideally 12 months of relevant professional experience (min. 3 months - max. 24 months);
  • Max. 28 years old at the date of application;
  • Excellent command of English and 2 official Swiss languages (one active = C1/C2, one passive = A2/B1);
  • Proven interest in being part of the international cooperation sector.
