Substitute Teacher (certified)

Pay Rate: $150 per day

Position Description Summary:

To facilitate students' learning of the designated subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women; motivate and establish effective rapport with students; establish good relationships with parents and colleagues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Teach district-approved curriculum.
2. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
3. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media.
4. Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior, maintain discipline, and utilize appropriate classroom management techniques.
5. Cooperate and collaborate with other staff members.
6. Follow district policy, guidelines, regulations, and procedures, as well as maintain confidentiality according to law and policy.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree and valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate.
2. Successfully establish and maintain effective relationships.
3. Effective oral and written communication.
