Solution Architect - Airlines Nevio
Business Environment
The Airline Solutions Engineering division, part of Travel Unit, is accountable for the optimal delivery of the technology and solutions required to achieve the Airline Solutions business objectives. One key mission of the group is to enable and support our customers with the industry transformation towards Offer, Order, Settle and Deliver, and to deliver the new retailing portfolio, Nevio. This is a large scale endeavor (1000 members involved across different domains and divisions) and a key revenue initiative for Amadeus.
As part of the Airline Solutions Engineering group, the Airline Solution and Architecture division is in charge of the transversal functional and architectural designs for Airlines, focusing on Nevio. Composed of enterprise architects, system architects, senior architects, senior experts and solution managers, this group is leading and driving studies and analysis, in collaboration with the architects and experts from Altea and other domains, paving the way for the future of the airline portfolio and solutions.
Reporting directly to the Architect Director for Nevio, the role is to facilitate transversal studies to define the vision for Nevio and high level design for the technical and functional architecture while communicating and supporting the execution of the targeted vision.
Your main responsibilities
- Facilitate and coordinate functional architecture studies transversal to the whole Nevio scope (beyond Altea, including areas such as operations, loyalty, payment/Outpayce…)
- Guide the identification of alternative solutions (combinations of process, information and technology evolutions) capable of meeting business objectives. Confirm the optimal solution with the help of external and internal experts and through any required Proofs of Concept.
- Document and present solution recommendations, supports decision making on key initiatives
- Collaborates with leadership members (Directors/AD) on key architectural divisions
- Develop Nevio solution design principles to allow autonomy for the execution teams in delivering the best in class delivering offering, in line with the Amadeus and Altea technical strategy.
- Create high level designs with product managers and business architects of the Nevio system functions and the data flow between them (data models, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), flows) towards defined business objectives and capabilities
- Supports the elaboration of the Nevio Solution Architecture Intent
- Communicate some transition assets moving towards the Nevio vision.
- Contribute and support in the preparation of Request for Information/Proposal (RFI/P) responses and other ad hoc customer requests. Support to sales / pre-sales efforts via customers’ needs understanding, gaps identification and product design proposition.
- Has a comprehensive understanding of the industry, foresees business opportunities and implements business strategies with an impact on Airlines business unit
- Supports global initiatives that foster innovation and change in the industry (includes representation of Amadeus in the industry forums, at C and D level)
- Build the execution roadmap, identifying dependencies and translating solution design into features to feed the trains' backlog.
About our ideal candidate
- 12+ years of professional experience in software development disciplines with experience as Senior-level functional or technical architect, solution manager, SAFe system architect, or engineering manager.
- Experience designing or building connectivity/integration between systems, API integration patterns.
- Comfortable with exposure to senior and top management (VPs, Directors), internally and external customer-facing.
- Ability to work in a matrix environment
- Successfully grown in previous positions with uncertainties, technology challenges, business transformation challenges.
- Airline industry experience
- Professional proficiency in English.
