Solar Grid Connection Manager - Italy

Our client is a European utility with a leading position in energy markets across 30 countries in Europe, Americas, Asia and Africa. When it comes to solar division, they operate in the development, investment, construction and operation of photovoltaic plants and the supply of green electricity and advanced energy solutions for our customers in Europe (Italy, Spain, Germany and Poland).

Job Responsibilities

As a Grid Connection Manager, you ensure the grid connection to any project in the balance cost/timeline/quality. The Role of Grid connection team in Italy consists in 3 main work-packages: Grid operator relationship (DSO/TSO), MV works and HV works.

You will report to the Head of Grid Connection, your main missions will be:

Medium Voltage

1. Responsible for MV design with link to grid connection solution and photovoltaic design (cost, quality and delay).
2. Technical Referent for grid code compliance and Technical specifications.
3. Interface with purchase department in different steps (support on RfQ, reviewing suppliers offers).
4. Quality audits (with link to Quality department and Engineering).
5. Finding external engineering (if needed) and integrators.

Grid Connection

External Relationship

1. Grid operator relationship (in case of private grid connection, self consumption or not, this item is extended to electrical relationship with customer).
2. Responsible for grid connection request.
3. Technical Referent for commissioning.
4. Responsible for follow-up of the grid operator process (cost and delay).

Internal Relationship

1. Support to the Prospection and Development activities.
2. Responsible for analysis of grid connection solution (cost and delay).
3. Support of cartography team to implement tools to link grid opportunities and projects.

Project management on Grid Connection scope (when needed)

1. Proposal of project grid connection strategy.
2. Planning of the activities.
3. Follow-up of internal and external working groups.
4. Follow-up of scope of work costs (estimation, budget monitoring, deviations...).

Other transversal activities

1. Reporting, tools and Quality improvement.
2. Construction support on electrical topics.
3. O&M support on electrical topics.

Job Requirements

1. Engineering degree with specialization in Electricity.
2. Minimum 2 years’ experience on a similar position or in the design of MV electrical installations.
3. Good knowledge of MS Office software.
4. Autonomous, challenging spirit, strong and diplomatic relationship with institutional partners, sense of synthesis and pragmatic.
5. Excellent communication skills in Italian (primary language) - English fluent is mandatory.
