As our Fulfillment Center Network expands at a rapid pace, the need to effectively manage information about our Associates is crucial as the workforce expands. We are building a platform that integrates with our robotics technologies to deliver reliable Associate information - which in turn drives Authentication and Authorization systems globally.

Key job responsibilities

1. As a Software Development Engineer II, you are responsible for developing the architecture as well as implementation of solutions to challenging problems. You are able to work independently to deliver end-to-end solutions with high code quality, in a reliable and scalable manner.
2. You take an active role in coaching junior engineers and help them reach the next level. You participate in the interviewing process for other engineers across Amazon.
3. You bring experience to the table from previous roles and actively help improve our Software Development Process. You actively contribute to team discussions and set the standard for how we build products that people love.
4. Software is never completed, only released. You take ownership of the maintenance and the continued success of the products we have shipped by improving existing features and bug-fixing where necessary. You play an active role in communicating with our customers and incorporating their feedback.

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers Amazon’s global fulfillment network. We invent and deliver software, hardware, and data science solutions that orchestrate processes, robots, machines, and people. We harmonize the physical and virtual world so Amazon customers can get what they want, when they want it.

Workforce Optimization

AFT’s Workforce Optimization team delivers innovative platforms and products to automate labor management and staffing decisions across processes and functions at Amazon’s global fulfillment network locations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2. 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
3. Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
2. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
