About the Role
Reporting to the Service Manager, the Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance of the SPX and non-SPX equipment on customer site or at SPX workshop. This technical role is an essential member of the Service Execution team and has a positive impact on the regional results and the overall success of the business. This role provides technical responsibility over service orders including on- and off-site coordination (based on experience), tools and material requirements, reporting and onsite customer contacts. The Service Technician provides best in class Service operations and will execute his tasks in accordance with best practice processes and procedures. The Service Technician will follow the processes and behaviors to ensure service orders / commitments are completed safely, timely, within budget and focused on customer satisfaction. The Service Technician will contribute to build and sustain our culture of customer centricity, execution excellence and team collaboration.
About Your Responsibilities
- Drive a culture of Service Excellence, which results in a first-class customer experience and positive customer satisfaction scores.
- Execution of Service orders from the sales team hand-over up to the final acceptance from customers.
- Acknowledge the risks and opportunities, quality control and procedures associated with service execution.
- Potential coordination and supervision of internal and external service execution resources (based on experience).
- Work closely with the Service Engineers team to ensure seamless execution leading to customer’s invoicing.
- Support the Warranty Service Manager for quality issues. Monitoring of the open warranties / claims up to their closure (based on experience).
- Committing to EHS rules to ensure that all Service execution activities are completed in a safe manner and to SPX Flow or customer specific standards.
- Partner with the other Solutions Delivery functions for resolutions, risks management and technology. For example: Installation & Commissioning, automation, engineering, etc.
- Supports the Sales function for service activities in a timely and efficient manner.
- Potential support to customer’s training.
- Technically own the assigned service orders in terms of execution: Define the needed resources, tools and materials. Ensure best in class service reporting according SPX Flow standards. Perform mechanical and hydraulic maintenance operations on SPX and non-SPX equipment. Assistance to customer to restart the installation / equipment after being serviced (based on experience). Submitting the Intervention Sheet to the Service Coordinator.
- Compliance of all relevant SPX policies and procedures, including business ethics, data protection and health & safety.
What You Need
- At a minimum, educational preparation, if not technical background in a service-related field, is required.
- Precise and punctual work ethic.
- Alignment to the strategic goals of the corporation to function within the business structure.
- Analytical skills – able to assist in identifying and providing solutions to customer issues or service execution problems.
- Attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to collaborate with others through appropriate influencing and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good understanding of the SPX Flow equipment and processes or skillset to learn it.
- Positive thinker, able to see solutions on critical situations.
- Written and verbal communication skills in English, additionally to French or Spanish.
- Driving license.
