Senior Software Engineer (Scala)

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work on a project in the green energy industry.

Our client is one of the leading green energy companies in the UK. You will be part of the Energy Retail platform’s team. This is a SaaS technology platform that aims to revolutionize the operating platforms for energy retailers globally. This platform has been built with scale and technical quality in mind and is the foundation for decarbonisation efforts by client’s customers.

We are looking for someone with good communication skills, proactive, and good attention to detail.

What you will do:

1. You will be joining the Core Platform team, working closely with retail clients to ensure a high level of service related to Charges. This team is responsible for maintaining accurate charge calculations.
2. The primary tech stack is Scala, but you'll also have opportunities to work with other languages like TypeScript.
3. You will also have the opportunity to get hands-on with other technologies such as Datadog and Kafka.

What you will bring:

1. Experience in functional programming with Scala.
2. Experience in developing and monitoring back-end services within AWS.
3. Strong knowledge of engineering best practices and continuous delivery.
4. Passionate about enhancing customer experience and building high-quality software.
5. Motivated to own products from inception through continuous improvement.

Nice to have:

Experience in TypeScript.
