Reporting to the Global Engineering Project Director, you will provide project management & leadership to major international projects with a capital value up to €100 millions (industrial scope). Your role will be to manage projects to achieve a timely completion with the desired performance criteria to the agreed budget and ensure group EHS standards are paramount at every stage of the project.

You will have the following responsibilities:

Project monitoring

  1. Develop the necessary site safety systems, procedures, and controls to ensure a safe work environment and compliance to all Saint-Gobain Group EHS regulations and standards, (and local standards if higher), with the objective to achieve zero accidents;
  2. Plan, organize and direct the completion of specific projects for SG while ensuring these projects are on time, on budget, and within scope;
  3. Deliver large projects from Step 0 to Step 7 as per Saint-Gobain Methodology = from the “idea” until the end of commissioning;
  4. Ensure all project works are undertaken in line with stated company policies and procedures: project execution manual, capex manual and loss prevention manual;
  5. Ensure all project participants: local, GE & central, work as a cohesive and effective project team.

Internal & External communication

  1. Internal
    • Communicating effectively across a global organization and at all levels ranging from blue collars to senior management.
    • Liaise with Business Owner from the Countries and Operations Director (customer) to establish project needs.
    • Reporting and presentation to Global Engineering and Business unit senior management as per Saint-Gobain’s project management methodology.
    • Liaise with Global Engineering technical teams to establish how customer requirements will be met.
  2. External
    • Suppliers and contractors to obtain and negotiate quotes for work to be done and ensure meets all expectations.
    • Conflict management of all the coordination of all parties, finding the correct balance to move forward.
    • Co-ordinate the recruitment of the local project team.

As it is an International job position, you will need to travel to several locations, visit suppliers and other Saint-Gobain locations worldwide. Willingness to travel according to project progress requirements.

The position is preferably based at Rantigny, France.

We are looking for a Project Manager specialized in contract management, with a strong expertise in communication and industrial safety management. If you thrive in managing large or medium-scale projects and excel in applying project management methodologies, this opportunity is for you.

In this role, you will be responsible for effectively managing contracts, utilizing a robust project management approach to plan, forecast, mitigate risks, monitor progress, and ensure successful project delivery. Your skills in stakeholder management and cross-cultural team motivation will be pivotal in influencing key internal stakeholders.

With a degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Civil or Chemical Engineering, a minimum of 10 years of project management experience, and ideally a Chartered Manager/Project Management qualification, the perfect fit for this role will bring demonstrated expertise in site management, project methodology, exceptional communication skills, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
