The Vital Events Registry Services Branch is seeking a talented and visionary Senior Manager of Operations. This is a unique opportunity to lead a team dedicated focused on delivering exceptional service, driving modernization and fostering continuous improvement in the administration of vital statistics in Ontario.

About Us:

The Vital Events Registry Services Branch, under the Office of the Registrar General (ORG), is dedicated to the effective administration of the Vital Statistics Act, Marriage Act, and Change of Name Act. Led by the Deputy Registrar General, our branch is responsible for registering all vital events in Ontario, including births, marriages, deaths, stillbirths, adoptions, and name changes. We also produce vital event certificates and certified copies of registrations, ensuring the accurate and secure stewardship of these essential records. Our commitment is to provide reliable and efficient services to the residents of Ontario, safeguarding the integrity of vital event registration records.

Deliver on Business Goals and Priorities

Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the team towards the achievement of its goals. It will be your responsibility to inspire and motivate your team to deliver their best performance and align the team's daily actions with the strategic vision.

In this role, you will:

  1. Oversee the administration of vital statistics, ensuring effective implementation and compliance with the Vital Statistics Act, Marriage Act, and Change of Name Act.
  2. Manage a team of seven operational managers, providing direction and support to ensure efficient processing and registration of vital events.
  3. Develop and oversee strategic plans for the branch and align with the overall goals of the Office of the Registrar General (ORG).
  4. Drive the transformation of legacy systems by implementing new technologies and processes to improve service delivery.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including contact centers, ServiceOntario, and northern communities.
  6. Offer expert advice, comprehensive guidance, and proactive issues management support to address and resolve operational and service delivery challenges.
  7. Promote a supportive and high-performance culture and ensure effective HR management.
