Teaching Profile

The successful applicant will join the department’s pedagogical team. He/she will primarily intervene in the field of project management and management sciences, particularly in the “Management of innovative projects” sector. This sector is transversal to all branches (departments) of the university. The recruited person will contribute to the teaching given to engineering students in initial core curriculum training and apprenticeship training. She/he will also be required to take responsibility for certain teaching, particularly in the field of project management.

The objective of these courses is to enable engineering students to acquire knowledge as well as operational methods and tools. These skills must be directly available throughout their career, integrating an understanding of the technical, human, organizational, environmental, and socio-technical aspects of projects. These courses will be based on:

1. Concrete case studies from the professional world.
2. A project-based teaching method favouring immediate practical application.
3. Carrying out real projects with external partners to understand the challenges and constraints of industrial projects and practising decision-making.
4. Other pedagogical modalities.

In the medium term, it is expected that the recruited person will be involved in responsibilities at the departmental level, particularly by participating in the development and evolution of teaching in the Management of Innovative Projects sector. She/he will play a role in training engineers to prepare them to manage strategic projects in complex environments, particularly in the context of economic, ecological, and digital transitions which must integrate human and technological aspects. She/he will also supervise the end-of-study projects of engineering students, providing them with personalized support in their preparation for the professional world.

Research Profile

The recruited candidate will initially join the "Design and Intersubjectivity" programme team within the COSTECH laboratory. This team focuses on design methodologies, project management, and the dynamics of collaborative work. The research primarily aims to achieve a detailed understanding of collaboration processes, human interactions, and organizational transformations driven by digital tools in innovation projects, mainly technological in nature.

The work will involve analyzing and understanding collaborative interactions in professional settings, with a potential focus on:

1. The dynamics of attention, coordination, group awareness, and intentionality among participants.
2. The impact of digital tools and organizational methods on collaborative performance.
3. The role of intermediate objects (e.g., documents, digital mockups) that facilitate communication and exchange among project stakeholders.

A key challenge will be to explore how emerging technologies, such as collaborative platforms and artificial intelligence, influence team-based project work, both in-person and remotely. This research will contribute to the development of new models and tools to enhance design processes, project management, and collaboration. It aims to support engineers in creating tailored methodologies to address the specific needs of their projects.

Furthermore, this work seeks to deepen the understanding of human and organizational phenomena in innovation processes while addressing the challenges posed by current transitions.

The recruited person must have a doctorate in management sciences or industrial engineering and will be able to offer an interdisciplinary vision, in line with the UTC tradition which combines engineering sciences with the human and social sciences.

Specific Skills

The person recruited must have a particular sensitivity to concrete industry-centred issues and, ideally, professional experience in this environment. Specific skills include:

1. Expertise in project management and innovation management, with practical experience linking theory and operationality.
2. Skills in managing complex or large-scale projects, particularly in an industrial context.
3. Mastery of design methods, needs analysis, creativity, and problem-solving.
4. Ability to collaborate with companies to develop partnership research projects.
5. Experience in supervising student projects and implementing innovative project-centered teaching methods.

Transverse Skills:

1. Proven mastery of French and English.
2. Ability to work in a team and in a multidisciplinary environment.
3. Ability to develop national and international collaborations.
4. Ability to take responsibility both in teaching and research.
5. Ability to develop partnership research with companies.
6. International experience will be an appreciated asset.
