Salary : up to €65,000 per year + salaried performance bonus + benefits

Hours : Monday to Friday, no weekends

The Opportunity

Our client is a leading player in the renewable energy sector and is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join their team as a Senior HSE Manager. As a rapidly growing company with operations in Europe and Africa, our client is committed to the development, investment, construction, operation and maintenance of wind power, solar energy and other renewable energy projects.

With assets across multiple countries, including France, UK, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden and Senegal, the company has made substantial investments, exceeding €3 billion to date and boasts an installed capacity of 2.4GW.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement the company’s vision and strategy within the department
  • Set targets and priorities under the guidance of the GMD
  • Oversee departmental activities and ensure alignment with corporate goals related to health, safety and environmental (HSE) management
  • Provide technical support to senior management on HSE policies and safety-related matters
  • Ensure company HSE systems are implemented, reviewed, updated and audited in line with corporate guidelines
  • Monitor compliance with safety and environmental regulations and keep policies up to date with legislative changes
  • Foster a strong safety culture by encouraging compliance with company procedures and the correct use of safety equipment
  • Conduct in-house safety training sessions
  • Support the Investment and Operations Departments with health and safety concerns
  • Contribute HSE engineering expertise to new projects and modification programs
  • Conduct internal and external safety audits
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, analyse trends and propose improvements
  • Perform risk assessments and prepare health and safety documentation
  • Provide technical safety advice and oversee the preparation of safety plans and procedures for contract start-up activities
  • Prepare HSE reports and advise management on key safety issues
  • Maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in HSE or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in HSE
  • Strong command of English
  • In-depth knowledge of legal and health safety regulations
  • Strong report-writing and policy development skills
  • Proactive and highly motivated
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Problem solver with a determined approach to resolving operational challenges
