We are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer, Data Analytics to join the Brookfield Properties Corporate Division in New York or Toronto. As the Senior Business Intelligence Developer reporting to the Vice President, Data & Analytics, you will be responsible for helping to implement the data & analytics strategy for the Brookfield Corporate platform.

The responsibilities outlined in this job description are intended to provide a sense of the key priorities for the role. In the spirit of continual service improvement, this role and function will be evolutionary.

Role & Responsibilities:

  1. Partner with business analysts and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements for reporting needs
  2. Design and present best-in-class visualizations that allow business to absorb key business drivers quickly
  3. Design, develop, and implement innovative analytical solutions
  4. Conduct independent review, analysis, and resolution of issues
  5. Develop data quality controls to build trust through intuitive and accurate reporting
  6. Assist in laying out strategy for the data & analytics team
  7. Assist in recognizing potential issues and risks for the data warehouse and visualization project, and help develop mitigation strategies
  8. Understand and explore available third-party datasets, and help identify potential new data to supplement the existing data model
  9. Collaborate with key business partners to identify critical metrics and deliver actionable insights for data-driven decision making
  10. Be a champion for a data-driven culture

Your Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Data Visualization, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or a related field preferred
  2. 6+ years of experience developing visualizations in Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, or similar BI reporting tool, with a minimum of 3 years specific to Power BI
  3. 5+ years of professional experience with Python, particularly in working with data pipelines, including retrieving data from external sources (e.g., APIs, databases, files), transforming it, and loading it into target systems. Experience with serverless technologies such as Azure Functions is a plus
  4. 3+ years working with SQL with ability to utilize SQL to perform exploratory data analysis
  5. 6+ years of recent professional/work experience in advanced MS Excel, including Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts, Mathematical & Statistical functions
  6. Technical proficiency with data and databases gained through education and/or business experience
  7. Knowledge and experience in data preparation, data analysis, and database design
  8. Technical focus and comfort with a variety of applications and systems
  9. Experience working with all stakeholders to understand essential KPI and insights
  10. Proven experiences on designing explanatory dashboards
  11. Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders
  12. Experience in real estate is highly preferred

Optional Qualifications:

  1. Experience working with overall Azure platform such as Data Factory or other ETL tools
  2. Experience working with GraphQL or REST API
  3. Experience working with Snowflake
  4. Willingness to travel within North America if required
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a meaningful way to a variety of audiences
  6. Comfortable working in a fast-paced agile environment
  7. Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus
  8. Ability to understand business processes from different business areas and work towards their improvement
  9. Demonstrated experience working with external parties such as service providers, contractors, and software vendors
  10. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to adapt and translate technical concepts in terms of business impact
  11. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills and time management
  12. Strong creative thinking abilities
  13. Self-motivated and proactive

Salary Type: Exempt

Annual Base Salary Range: $95,000 - $140,000

Medical & Pharmacy Coverage: Yes, under Brookfield Medical Plan

Vision Coverage: Yes, under Brookfield Medical Plan

Retirement: 401(k)
