Scenic Designer and Builder

Under the general direction of the Cultural Arts Manager, the Scenic Designer and Builder plays a pivotal role in crafting an unforgettable production experience. This creative professional is responsible for designing, constructing, and overseeing the installation of all scenic elements. Working closely with the production team, they bring to life a safe, functional, and visually striking set that not only captivates the audience but also enriches the storytelling. All of this is achieved while skillfully navigating budget and time constraints, ensuring that the vision of production is realized to its fullest potential.

Minimum Requirements

1. Previous scenic design and construction experience in community, educational, or professional theatre required.
2. Strong carpentry, painting, and technical theatre skills.
3. Ability to read and create technical drawings and construction plans.
4. Knowledge of theatre safety practices and set construction techniques.

Compensation for this position is a stipend of $700 paid in increments based on production schedule.
