Team & Job Overview

The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:

  1. Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation.
  2. Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization.
  3. Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.
  4. Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.

The Salesforce Principal Platform Owner role, reporting to the Director of Digital Delivery will be a key player in establishing EDC’s Salesforce Platform team. The role includes, in collaboration with the Director of Digital Delivery, establishing the governance, team structure and technical guidelines for Salesforce at EDC. This role will be strategic as well as operational – the successful candidate will help build and then manage the maintenance of the Salesforce platform. The Principal Platform Owner will be supported by a dedicated squad.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Creates and maintains a user management strategy including access configuration.
  2. Is an ambassador for the new tool, promotes and facilitates the adoption of the tool, monitors uptake and helps create change plans to increase adoption.
  3. Ensure and oversee an adequate Salesforce architecture including Development, Integration and Security.
  4. Ensures Salesforce aligns with compliance, security and privacy needs and policies.
  5. In partnership with the Business Product Owner, develop features and stories to build out platform capabilities for business requirements. Working with the business find a balance between prioritizing technology sustainment and improvements with the business requirements.
  6. Monitor Salesforce Platform and integrations ensuring that they are functioning optimally. Implement changes to enhance system performance and user experience.
  7. Working closely with the business and technology leaders and other groups to ensure our Salesforce platform aligns with corporate strategy, resources are allocated efficiently, risks are mitigated, outcomes are achieved and benefits are realized.
  8. In partnership with the Product Owner, provide training information to the training team so that appropriate material and workshops can be developed.

Screening Criteria

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Product Management.
  3. Experience with Salesforce Platform and/or a CRM platform.
  4. Strong technical and business knowledge in the area of Customer Relationship Management.
  5. Strong communication skills to communicate and motivate the team and to clearly communicate platform vision.
  6. Ability to speak to both business and technology teams and be a translator to both.
  7. Must be comfortable establishing new platforms and governance.

Assets

  1. 3 years’ experience with Salesforce platform, and familiarity with Financial Services Platform.
  2. Experience establishing new teams and governance structures.
  3. Bilingual in both official languages (French and English).

Salary

Product Owner 19: Salaries typically range from $109,810 to $146,413 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.

Location

Export Development Canada is a hybrid work environment.

This role may be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa, or from the Community Hub in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Laval, Brossard, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, or Halifax.
