Summary:

Assumes responsibility for customer retention and profitability in the used-vehicle profit centers. Fulfills responsibilities primarily through effective personnel management, knowledge of market potential, established performance standards, and a keen awareness of each department's break-even data.

• Purchase and sell Used Car inventory
• Stay abreast of incoming inventory, features, accessories, etc., and how they benefit customers
• Know and understand the federal, state, and local laws which govern retail auto sales
• Develop and maintain a buying network
• Help appraise vehicles when needed
• Knowledgeable of purchasing vehicles online
• Experience appraising vehicles
• Work with dealer and general manager to determine appropriate days’ supply for used vehicles and order/acquire vehicle inventory accordingly
• Establish standards for displaying, merchandising, and maintaining used vehicles
• Establish procedures for quick disposal of over-aged vehicles
• Check the condition of all demonstrators monthly
• Study local market conditions, demographics, and past sales history
• Ensure the lot is merchandised well and the cars are maintained at the highest standards
• Price all cars correctly on various websites and be familiar with online marketing of used vehicles
• Audit all appraisals of trade-in vehicles and attend auctions frequently
• Maintain a professional appearance
• Attend managers meetings as requested
• Finance experience preferred
• Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License
• Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and drug test
