General Purpose:

The Sales Director, in collaboration with his/her management and teams, develops, and implements BeiGene France's commercial strategy in order to contribute to the achievement of BeiGene France's commercial objectives.

Within the framework of BeiGene's strategy and Quality Policy, as well as the procedures and regulations in force, the Sales Director is responsible for:

  • Defining the promotional information strategy in line with established marketing strategies, in order to ensure the development of sales in compliance with the Charte de l'information par démarchage ou prospection visant à la promotion des médicaments, the rules of professional ethics and the Dispositif d'Encadrement des Avantages.
  • Guarantee the implementation of operational actions aimed at achieving the budget with the resources made available.

Essential Functions of the Job:

Defining and implementing the promotional information strategy in line with the marketing strategy:

  • Develop the promotional strategy at national level and the operational objectives to be deployed.
  • Work with the marketing and medical departments to translate the needs expressed in the field into terms of services and actions to be taken (multi-channel approach, remote visits, etc.).
  • Represent the company and develop appropriate communication initiatives and external partnerships.
  • Ensure that all sectoral action plans are aligned with the national strategy and monitor them with the Area Managers.
  • Analyze the network's performance using the tools at its disposal, and implement corrective measures.
  • Ensure that the regulatory and technological environment is taken into account.

Developing sales and increasing performance:

  • Define and plan the annual qualitative and quantitative objectives to be achieved.
  • Manage KAM activities in compliance with BeiGene regulations and policies.
  • Ensure the level of expertise and the validity of the training of its teams.

Supporting and training the salesforce:

  • Oversee the network's training in the field, in collaboration with the training department, regulatory affairs, marketing and medical affairs.
  • Define individual and collective training and development needs.
  • Ensure that mandatory training courses are carried out, particularly in the areas of ethics and compliance, pharmacovigilance and complaints handling.
  • Help teams to identify the key players to be informed in their area.
  • Organize and coordinate team training around campaigns and product launches, seminars and regional meetings (mobilizing teams, validating resources, etc.).
  • Organize and analyze feedback from the sales force to other departments.

Team management:

  • Manage and motivate a team of Area Managers and Drug Promotion Officers.
  • Lead and monitor the achievement of objectives in line with the defined strategy and by liaising between the various support, marketing and medical departments.
  • Ensure that the financial, material and human resources needed to achieve the national targets set are made available. Monitor the sales budget in line with the Group's strategy.
  • Propose and monitor variable remuneration systems.
  • Support field teams in developing their skills.
  • Ensure that teams take responsibility for Ethics and Compliance.

Compliance with applicable regulations:

  • In compliance with BeiGene’s procedures, report to the company without delay any adverse reaction, quality complaint or off label use of which he/she is aware.
  • With the exception of his regulatory obligations, strictly respect the professional secrecy towards patients and do not reveal anything seen or heard in the places where the activity is performed.
  • In accordance with BeiGene’s guidelines, comply with the rules relating to the benefits offered by persons manufacturing or marketing health products and with the rules relating to the management of personal data.
  • Respect any applicable local laws and regulations like the French health law and the Reps Charter (and applicable Referential).
  • Respect the applicable Company values and procedures, and especially the deontology and compliance rules.
  • Regularly attend regulatory, products and disease trainings.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • As a Leadership Team member, contribute to set, communicate and implement the vision & the strategy of the cluster in compliance with applicable local regulation. Act as a role model of the values, the competencies and the Ethic, and ensure adherence across teams.
  • Manage, coach and mentor direct reports and their team members.

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelors Degree: business management with professional experience in the sector or science with sales experience & scientific background (Master degree or doctorate preferred).
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical sector with at least 10 years’ experience in Medical Sales Promotional Information or marketing at managerial level (or 7+ years with Masters Degree, 5+ years with PhD).

Computer Skills: Proficiency in all Office programs, Outlook and using CRM.

Other Qualifications: Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Travel: Willingness to travel frequently (30% of the time in France and Abroad as required).
