At Dark, we passionately believe that space represents not only a cornerstone of the modern world but also a catalyst for shaping our future. Our mission is clear: pioneering spacecraft and mission designs for the protection of vital orbits and assets.
That is why we are gathering a team of bright minds to tackle crucial challenges through advanced engineering. Our focus? Velocity. We are kicking in technologies that will enable faster-than-ever orbital missions, ushering in a new era defined by unprecedented agility and boundless opportunity.
As part of the program management team, you will shape the strategy and methodologies to ensure reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety (RAMS) throughout our systems development.
Your role will involve leading probabilistic risk and hazard assessments across the program life cycle, identifying mitigation measures and implementing control actions. By supporting and driving the initiatives to enhance spacecraft design and mission operations, you will play a key role in ensuring mission success and advancing the safety and dependability of Dark’s technologies.
First Missions
- Getting up to speed with the current spacecraft and mission design
- Consolidating the programme’s risk management system
- Initiating the system risks assessment and safety and reliability analysis, including (but not limited to) FTA, FMEA, and WCA
Responsibilities
- Leading RAMS analyses, identifying potential issues, and formulating robust mitigation strategies
- Supporting trade studies to drive design-for-reliability, design-for-availability, design-for-maintainability, and design-for-safety into the system to achieve RAMS requirements
- Supporting flight authorization request procedures, interfacing with regulatory authorities throughout the entire process
- Demonstrating the implementation of risk mitigation measures and their declination into operational procedures and/or technical requirements
- Identifying current and future regulatory frameworks relevant to our operations
- Conducting regular reviews and audits to assess compliance with safety and dependability standards and identify opportunities for improvement
- Being the primary point of contact for risk-, dependability-, and safety-related inquiries and issues, providing timely resolution and escalation as necessary
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in a similar position
- Ideal background from the aerospace/defense industry (e.g., MBDA, Thales, Dassault, Safran, etc.)
- Demonstrated expertise in product assurance and quality management
- You already performed traditional RAMS analyses (FMEA, ...)
- Familiarity with applicable standards and certifications (ECSS, MIL, NASA NPRs, EN9100, ISO, etc.)
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively summarize complex information
- Interpersonal and leadership capabilities
- Knowledge of the French Space Operations Act (LOS) is a plus
- As we have an international team, knowledge of technical English is required. Fluency in French is a plus
Culture
We recognize that extraordinary work ethics turn mere achievements into triumphs. Hence, we hold each team member accountable for enhancing collaborative performance within Dark by embodying the following skillset:
- Methodology – Your ability to clearly define and articulate the steps required to achieve a desired outcome
- Relevancy – Your capacity to discern and select the most appropriate course of action based on the prevailing context and circumstances
- Results – Consistently obtaining and updating the necessary resources and information to drive towards the intended outcome effectively
- Join - our core team, poised to expand into a company with hundreds.
- Engage - in a deeply technical project with high level systems trade-off and long term industrial vision.
- Learn - every day in an environment driven by continuous improvement.
- Enjoy - a team rewarding autonomy and uphold high standards at work.
- Receive - a high competitive salary and bonuses.
Total salary package begins at €62,000, along with additional performance-based and project-related bonuses.
