Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service: Act as the main point of contact for guests, resolving issues promptly and ensuring satisfaction.
- Manage reservations and seating: Coordinate table assignments, manage waitlists, and optimize dining room flow for smooth service.
- Supervise staff: Oversee and guide waitstaff in your section to ensure high performance and consistency.
- Ensure dining room readiness: Inspect tables, chairs, and linens for cleanliness and setup accuracy. Monitor and restock business supplies as needed.
- Monitor service quality: Train and mentor junior staff, ensuring adherence to service protocols and standards.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff: Communicate guest preferences and special requests to the kitchen effectively.
- Handle customer accounts: Accurately manage billing, payments, and record keeping.
- Maintain inventory: Ensure availability of table settings, cleaning supplies, and other service essentials.
- Enforce hygiene and safety standards: Oversee sanitation of dining and kitchen areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist during service: When necessary, step in to take orders, serve food, or support the team to maintain smooth operations.
- Foster a positive team environment: Promote a collaborative and respectful workplace culture.
Requirements And Skills:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the hospitality industry, preferably as a head waiter or similar position.
- Strong communication skills in English or French (bilingualism is an asset).
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and split shifts as needed.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and guest satisfaction.
- Ability to work outdoors during seasonal service.
