Global Project Lead - Early Drug Discovery

We are excited to partner with an innovative and successful organization in the early structured based drug discovery space to attract a Global Project Lead – Early Drug Discovery.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to lead early drug discovery projects globally (Target ID to Hit-to lead), serving as the key interface between scientific operations and international clients in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.
The Opportunity
The Global Project Lead will design and drive scientific project management, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure high-quality project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide project management of early drug discovery projects, serving as the primary liaison between internal teams and international pharma and biotech clients.
- Develop scientific project strategies and plans, as well as support commercial proposals.
- Lead and coordinate project teams composed of scientists across several BU’s such as Protein Science, Structures and Biochemistry / Biophysics.
- Suggest suitable solutions and technological approaches based on project and customer requirements.
- Support and hands-on collaboration in structure based design of cpds and hit to lead cpd optimization.
Qualifications & Experience
- Hands-on experience in industrial drug discovery, including enabling technologies as well as from a MedChem perspective, structure based design.
- Experience in pharma, biotech, or CRO environments.
- Strong understanding of small molecule drug discovery processes, structure-based drug discovery, proteins, and protein interactions with small molecules and nucleic acids.
- Extensive expertise in medicinal chemistry, particularly structure-based design, hit-to-lead optimization, and computational approaches.
- Ph.D. in Life Sciences with a specialization in Medicinal Chemistry or Computational Chemistry.
- Experience in scientific project management, cross-functional leadership, and customer interaction.
- Strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and ability to drive projects to completion.
- Proven ability to anticipate challenges, mitigate risks, and ensure timely project execution.
