ISTerre is a joint research unit of Université Grenoble Alpes, CNRS, USMB, IRD and Université Gustave Eiffel, located at 1381 rue de la Piscine 38400 Saint-Martin d'Hères, on the Bourget du Lac science campus. It is part of the Observatoire des Sciences de l'Univers de Grenoble (OSUG) and the PAGE research cluster of the Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA). It employs around 300 people.
It is organized around 10 research and service teams, with the scientific objective of studying the physics and chemistry of planet Earth, focusing on coupling observations of natural objects with experimentation and modeling of the associated complex processes. More about ISTerre
You will be working in the Active Tectonics and Seismicity research team at ISTerre, joining the team led by Riccardo Vassallo (senior lecturer, HDR) and Hervé Jomard (engineer/researcher) for ASNR.
Work will be carried out in collaboration with Christophe Larroque (Laboratoire Géoazur) and Christian Sue (Isterre, PI of the ANR Madalps project).
Regular travel, mainly during the summer months, is planned in France and abroad (particularly in Italy) for geological field campaigns, as well as for the presentation of work at national and international scientific conferences.
Field work, mainly in the Alpine region, requires good physical condition.
Preferred training:
Earth sciences (active tectonics, paleoseismology, structural geology).
