Regional Operations Director – Data Centre
(France)
Location: Le Coudray-Montceaux, South of Paris (3-4 days per week on-site)
Languages: Fluent in French and English (spoken and written)
Package: Competitive base salary based on experience + 25% bonus + car allowance

We are seeking an experienced Regional Operations Director to lead the operational readiness and ongoing operations of a new data centre campus in the South of Paris. This senior leadership role is critical to building and leading the site operations team, driving operational excellence, and ensuring compliance with local and national regulations. The successful candidate will have extensive experience within data centre operations, construction, or similarly complex critical infrastructure (power generation, renewable energy, oil & gas, etc.) and will possess strong knowledge of French regulatory frameworks, local councils, and authorities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Team Building: Establish and grow the regional operations team, in alignment with company standards. Mentor, train, and develop a high-performance, customer-centric team.
2. Operational Readiness: Oversee the transition from construction to operations, ensuring the site is fully prepared for handover and operational go-live.
3. Stakeholder Management: Act as the local representative engaging with councils, municipalities, community stakeholders, and clients.
4. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations meet French regulatory standards, environmental requirements, and corporate policies.
5. Site Management: Drive maintenance, safety, and operational excellence across all critical and non-critical systems, ensuring service availability targets (100% uptime) are achieved.
6. Process & Risk Management: Implement and enforce standard operating procedures, emergency plans, incident management, change control, and maintenance strategies.
7. Budget Oversight: Manage the site’s OPEX and CAPEX budgets in coordination with the wider business.
8. Customer Excellence: Build trusted relationships with clients, ensuring service excellence and participating in business reviews.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in operations within data centres, power plants, critical infrastructure, or industrial facilities in France.
• Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing operational teams, ideally in a regulated, critical environment.
• Strong understanding of French local regulations, compliance standards, and stakeholder engagement (municipalities, councils, environmental bodies).
• Proven expertise in data centre mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems, building management systems (BMS), and security systems.
• Demonstrated experience ramping up greenfield or new facilities and operational handover from construction.
• Bachelor’s degree (engineering, business, real estate, or equivalent) preferred.
• Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Passion for working in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment with high accountability.
• Bilingual – French and English fluency is mandatory.

Salary & Benefits

• Base Salary: Midpoint €140,715 – Maximum €182,930 (dependent on skills and experience)
• Bonus: 25% of base salary
• Car Allowance: (€16,200 per annum)
