Post-Doctoral Position in Molecular Biology and Microbiology
We invite a creative, independent, and skilled post-doctoral researcher to join our dynamic team!
Position Overview:
We are offering an exciting post-doctoral opportunity in the fields of Microbiology, the microbiota, and Molecular Biology. This position will be supervised by Dr. Emilie Viennois and co-supervised by Dr. Bruno Charpentier, who are affiliated with the Centre de Recherche sur l’Inflammation (INSERM U1149) in Paris and the IMOPA laboratory at Université de Lorraine in Nancy, respectively. This is a two-year position funded by IHU Infiny, a leading center focused on advancing research and treatments for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). The successful candidate will be based in Paris, with several missions in Nancy, offering the opportunity to gain unique insights from two prominent research environments.
Research Focus and Scientific Strategy:
The research aims to explore the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in the development and treatment of IBD. Recent studies have indicated that miRNA profiles are significantly altered in IBD patients and mouse models of colitis, and these miRNAs are found in various biological forms in fluids and feces. Given the altered microbiota composition observed in IBD and its link to intestinal inflammation, manipulating the microbiota with miRNAs presents a promising therapeutic strategy. Our preliminary studies suggest that miRNAs can directly influence microbiota composition and host inflammatory responses. This project will delve deeper into the molecular mechanisms by which fecal miRNAs interact with specific bacterial species, aiming to develop innovative, safer therapeutic approaches for IBD.
To achieve these objectives, the research will employ molecular cloning, cell sorting, sequencing, and miRNA loop-mediated isothermal amplification (miR LAMP) techniques. These methods will allow for precise manipulation and analysis of miRNA-microbiota interactions and their effects on intestinal inflammation.
Candidate Requirements:
Outstanding Research Environment:
Team Interface in the Centre de Recherche sur l’Inflammation (INSERM U1149, Paris): Renowned for its expertise in host-microbiota interactions, particularly in the context of miRNA research related to IBD. Support by/and affiliation to IHU Infiny will provide a unique, multidisciplinary environment that fosters innovation in IBD research, bringing together world-renowned experts and state-of-the-art facilities.
Application Instructions:
If you are a highly motivated candidate interested in contributing to groundbreaking research, please submit your application including a cover letter, your curriculum vitae, and contact details for at least two references. Applications should be sent to emilie.viennois@inserm.fr.
