What we expect from you

As a Lecturer in Biomedical and Pharmacological Engineering, you are at the heart of our missions in education, research, and innovation, assigned to the Center for Training and Research in Biomedical Engineering in Saint-Étienne (CIS). Within this center, you combine scientific passion and societal impact.

Since its creation in 2004, the Biomedical Engineering Center in Saint-Étienne represents the biomedical capacity of Mines Saint-Étienne and is positioned with leadership in innovative themes such as Surface and Tissue Engineering, Systems Engineering for Health and Health Services, and Biomaterials and Particulate Engineering.

The recruited person will be in charge of developing a research theme at the interface of existing themes: aerosoltherapy and nanotoxicology. At the teaching level, they will contribute to courses in the sciences of life, notably at the post-baccalaureate level and in the ICM (Civil Engineering) program.

The contexts and objectives are:

1. Education: Design and deliver innovative courses in health engineering, adapted to contemporary challenges, to train the leaders and engineers of tomorrow within the Civil Engineering program, master's, post-baccalaureate.
2. Research: Conduct high-impact research at the interface of aerosoltherapy and nanotoxicology, recognized through scientific publications, and collaborate with the socio-economic world (industry, services, communities, etc.) for innovative and sustainable solutions. The expected skills focus on the scientific aspects of the living (cellular biology or physico-chemistry).
3. Innovation: Actively contribute to cross-disciplinary projects in a dynamic environment open to collaborations supported by public and private funds, in France and internationally.

Your ability to work in project mode and to bridge education, research, and practical application will be essential for success.

What we are looking for

• You hold a doctorate (or PhD) in life sciences and possess:
• Scientific skills in biological pharmacology, as well as knowledge in aerosol physico-chemistry, nanomedicine, and modeling.
• Confirmed experience in teaching (second or third cycle).
• Proven expertise in scientific publishing and research validation.
• Mastery of English (level C1) and ideally, international experience.

Additional assets:

• Qualification in CNU for sections 65 or 64 or 66 is favorably appreciated.
• Collaborations with industry and applied research.
• Engagement in scientific outreach activities.
