About this role:

This position will report directly to OpenTable’s Director, Global Payroll.

We will count on the Payroll Manager - Americas to foster a culture of excellence and strong collaboration, elevate OpenTable’s Payroll function, build and develop future-proof processes, and proactively guide the business to operate successfully in an increasingly complex Payroll environment.

In this role, you will:

  1. Ensure payroll is paid in a timely and accurate manner for multiple countries and frequencies.
  2. Oversee payroll processing operations for Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
  3. Calculate and report tax liabilities, as well as the periodic, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc balancing, and validate payroll tax reporting and related activities, including the annual issuance of year-end forms.
  4. Research law and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures.
  5. Assist with the preparation of special reports for senior management.
  6. Point person for all payroll tax notices and regulatory payroll audits.
  7. Ensure correct taxation of payroll & benefits for the North American region.
  8. Build strong relationships with Finance, HROps, Legal and FP&A teams, as well as Booking Holdings Payroll Team to ensure adequacy, accuracy and alignment on regional Payroll matters and overall strategy.
  9. Develop and lead a successful Americas Payroll Team, cultivating a high performing, professional and supportive environment.
  10. Assist and consult on ad-hoc projects. Advise senior management and business leads on tax related matters.

Please apply if:

  1. A minimum of 6 years of recent hands-on payroll experience with multi-national payrolls.
  2. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred.
  3. A certified Payroll Professional is preferred.
  4. 3 years of experience managing a team.
  5. Two years of hands-on ADP WorkForce experience.
  6. Advanced level Excel skills and experience managing large data sets.
  7. Proven ability to develop and generate ad hoc reports from ADP reports.
  8. Strong knowledge of payroll protocols, particularly with IRS regulations, Federal, State, and local taxes.
  9. Process-first approach is a must.
  10. Excellent interpersonal skills in managing processes and cross-functional relationships.
  11. Ability to maintain data confidentiality with a strong sense of professional integrity.
  12. Highly analytical with extraordinary organization and prioritization skills and a proven ability to meet hard deadlines.
  13. Strong dedication to customer service and ability to communicate concisely, both written and verbally.
  14. Dedicated, flexible, and assertive, with a creative approach to problem-solving.

The range for this Canada located role is 115,000 - 145,000 CAD.

In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible for additional compensation and benefits including: annual cash bonus; health benefits; flexible spending account; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off (including PTO, paid sick leave, medical leave, bereavement leave, floating holidays and paid holidays); and parental leave and benefits.
