Purpose:

This Inside Technical Sales role will generate revenue by soliciting and obtaining orders; understanding and interpreting technical requirements, providing technical information and developing accounts. This is a front line sales position which will be customer facing reselling mechanical engineering technology driving the sales process from start to finish.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Assesses competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends; identifying sales opportunities.
2. Develops sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts; soliciting new accounts; building rapport, providing technical information and explanations; preparing quotations.
3. Closes new accounts by answering telephone, fax, and email inquiries; verifying and entering information in a CRM to support account development and business forecasting.
4. Fills orders by transferring orders to fulfillment; communicating expected delivery date; explaining stock-outs.
5. Develops accounts by checking customer’s buying history; suggesting related and new items; explaining technical features and maintaining regular communication with assigned accounts.
6. Updates job knowledge by studying new product descriptions; participating in educational opportunities.

Technical Competencies:

1. Engineering or business degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

6. Bilingual in English and French is an asset
