We are looking for a Nuclear Supplier Inspector with a main responsibility in monitoring and checking the supplier manufacturing or requalification processes of our nuclear UD engines critical parts and in ensuring that it’s carried out in conformance with our technical specification, nuclear requirements and applicable standards. The preferred location for this position is Mulhouse, France but also Surgères, France or Paris, France are negotiable. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work.

As a Nuclear Supplier Inspector your work will include:

  • Validating the purchase order by checking consistency and validity between technical and quality data and manufacturing requirements
  • Ensure the inspection schedule management and realize all the required steps for inspections (relationships with suppliers and customer’s survey and inspection bodies)
  • Carry out nuclear spare parts and requalified equipment inspections in accordance with predefined inspection points (witness points / hold point), at the supplier’s premises
  • Ensure that the inspected manufacturing or control steps are carried out in conformance with the purchase order and annexes requirements, including applicable standards and regulations
  • Ensure that detected deviations are properly processed in accordance with the supplier requirements and realize interface between various parties concerned by their resolution (supplier / internal services / customer)
  • Actively communicate inspection schedule progress and its results to concerned internal entities such as operational purchasers / logisticians / supplier qualification
  • Redaction of detailed inspection report
  • Participate actively and with a collaborative mindset to the supplier Inspection management meetings, especially by sharing experience

Missions are carried out in compliance with Wärtsilä’s commitments about Quality, Health and Safety rules. Travel in a proportion of 60% to 80% mainly in Europe and France. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of an experienced and fully involved Suppliers Control team with diverse expertise.

Requirements for the position:

  • Technical knowledge in the field of rotating machines, mechanics and engines
  • First significant experience in inspection (workshop or supplier) in the industrial field preferably in the nuclear, automotive or aerospace sector
  • Knowledge of tests and Non-destructive tests techniques
  • Proficiency in reading plans and in manufacturing processes
  • Good level of English imperative
  • Degree bac+2 at least

Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standard requirements, with interest in ISO 19443
  • Ease of writing explicit and documented reports
  • Rigorous, precise, organized, autonomous and collaborative
  • Office pack, preferably autonomous on SAP
  • Driving License B
