SPIE Oil & Gas Services Ghana Ltd is currently looking for a Mechanical Foreman to join its workforce in Ghana.

NOTE: This position is open only to Ghanaians.

Context and missions:

  • Rotation Status.
  • Position Onshore in an Onshore Receiving Facility.
  • Responsible for maintenance operations within his field of competence.
  • Guarantees a good level of availability of the equipment on SITE.
  • Plays a predominant role in the transfer of skills to personnel undergoing training and development by mentoring on SITE.

Main activities:

  • Organizes onsite maintenance operations under his responsibility, as directed by his supervisor.
  • Assists the Supervisor in planning daily tasks by providing technical support for job preparation in his discipline.
  • Ensures that COMPANY’s HSE regulations are respected, especially procedures related to Work Permits, as well as approved operating procedures and standard industry practices during maintenance operations.
  • Leads Helpers and other technicians to execute interventions for preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Monitors the functioning of utilities and equipment under his responsibility, as delegated by his supervisor.
  • Carries out any intervention within his field of competence at the Supervisor's request.
  • If delegated, follows up with 3rd party contractors to ensure safe execution of their scope and returning equipment available afterwards.
  • Ensures daily department operations log and records are maintained.

Specific activities:

  • Ensures proper transfer of knowledge by mentoring within his teams and actively participates in the OJT/assessment program.
  • Identifies recurring problems related to the availability or quality of spare parts.
  • Keeps a critical eye on current preventive maintenance programs and suggests improvements if necessary.
  • Can be part of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Organizes the site rotational assignment.

Profile

The holder of this post must have the following qualifications:

  • Higher National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 6 to 10 years’ experience in maintenance on oil and gas production installations.
  • A basic knowledge of the process of oil and gas treatment, installations, and thorough knowledge of the equipment used in oil and gas treatment installations.

Mechanical Specific:

  • Mechanical equipment including but not limited to pumps (various), valves (various), Diesel & Gas Engines, Compressors (Air, Screw, Gas, Centrifugal, Nitrogen, Reciprocating).

Location

Minimum level of experience required

6 years or more.

Required authorisations

Educational requirement: Higher National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

4-7 years' experience as maintenance foreman in industrial plants (refineries, petrochemical plants, or similar industrial complexes) for mechanical equipment including but not limited to pumps (various), valves (various), Diesel & Gas Engines, Compressors (Air, Screw, Gas, Centrifugal, Nitrogen, Reciprocating).

Languages

English (D-Full professional proficiency).
